Shakti Box Begins- January

Shakti Box- Los Feliz- January

Before it all begins (the New Year), it begins. Starting in January 2010 I will be teaching a special class entitled "Stronghold". This is an on-going class with a specific theme in mind. For most of us, it seems that 2009 has been a tough and tiring year. I know for myself, it has been a year of many challenges, changes, and questions.

"Stronghold" takes 2009 and makes it work for us. How? This is a class that incorporates 1-3 lbs free weights and uses them as an extension of our bodies and movement. Life can sometimes weigh us down and create obstacles, but it is when we accept those challenges, embrace them, and make them work for us that we find more ease in the transition. Creating a strong body through sense of will and determination is what keeps us going strong.

If you are not ready for weights or not physically able, you can still attend this class; in fact I encourage it. Sometimes the support of a group can really help take you further than you thought you were able to go.

The Details:

Stronghold Tuesdays 8a-9a
Stronghold Thursdays 9a-10a

**All classes are donation based with a suggested donation of $15 per student.**

Casa del West Has Opened its doors!

Hello Friends-

I just wanted to let you know that Casa del West has officially opened its doors. I taught my first class here yesterday and was so happy to be able to share with some of the guys that have made teaching yoga so special to me. This is truly a beautiful space with a vibe like no other. In the next couple of months I hope to add classes that will be more accessible to all. If there is a class you would like to do, email me and I will see if we can find a spot to put it in.

Casa del West focuses first and foremost on community, so all input is welcome. I really am here to be the tour guide for whatever yogic adventures you would like to take.

I shall keep you posted on this here blog with any new additions or special workshops, so if you are not signed up for the blog please do so.

Happy Trails to us all!

This class will parallel the worlds of Yoga and BDSM and integrate the techniques of yoga into BDSM play.

Breath work, trust, and love are three qualities these worlds both share. We will use the props you bring in from your play and teach you how to use them in new ways.

Be prepared to stretch, flex, and open your mind and body to a new experience unlike any other.

Please bring your own toys and props, but keep it to a maximum of one duffle bag each, as space is limited.  Yoga mat, towel,

and bottle of water are recommended. bring an open mind and playful heart, as we will be playing with others.

Trane West- studies and practices Hatha, Kundalini, and Tantric Yoga. Drawing from an extensive background in religion and philosophy Trane uses these ideas like keys to help unlock the secret doors hidden within all of us and our practice.  His philosophy is simple: Take the classical ideas and practices of yoga and translate them into our modern times.

Antebellum Art Opening: Radical Faeries

Hello Happy February!

It's been awhile since my last post and now that all of the main holidays have passed over us, it is time to begin life anew. One of the great things happening this weekend is the Art Opening at Antebellum Gallery on Las Palmas. The show entitled: Radical Faeries is a beautiful display of men embracing their inner Pan and thusly exploring their sensual freedom. I don't want to give too much away other than it is a beautiful show with a live performance that night.

So stop in this Sat Feb 28th and say hello to Rick, the artists, and myself. The opening is 7p-9p.
For more details see the flyer and link. See you soon!
